Meet Our Stylists

A passionate and versatile hair artist, Jessica brings more than 20 years of experience to her studio.  She received her cosmetology license in 2001 in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Since then, she has continued to advance and refine her skills, training with some of the very best artists in the industry, including:

• Advanced cutting with Keune international artist Gareth Palmer
• Head Shape Matters (HMS) training with Kim Moore
• Keune advanced color certification with George Alderete (@colorboygeo) and Amber Skrzypek
• Sunlights Balayage certification with Candy Shaw (aka, the Balaylama)

In addition to her cut and color expertise, Jess has a talent for special occasion hair and has styled countless brides, bridesmaids and young ladies attending prom. She is skilled in advanced barber techniques with training from Andis and Wahl.

In 2007, Jessica rented a space on Lady Street in Columbia.  Twelve years later, when the salon owner retired, she took over and J Clark Hair Studio was born. With her love of learning and all things hair, she launched her own brand of hair products in 2020.

When she’s not working, Jessica can be found hanging out with her husband and their animals, working in the garden, cooking, practicing yoga, camping or paddle boarding. Among her many passions, she enjoys spending time each year with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, shaving heads to help raise money for childhood cancer research.

Jill Jones is an expert hair color specialist, in Columbia, South Carolina! She is an entrepreneur and runs and operates her salon business out of J. Clark Hair Studio on Lady street.

As a Hair Color Specialist and Brazilian Blowout Certified stylist, Jill brings over two decades of hands-on experience to her clients. She has worked with all hair types and has been trained by some of the top professionals in the industry, ensuring that every client receives the highest-quality service and care.

In 2020, Jill obtained her instructor’s license, furthering her commitment to excellence and education in the hair care industry. She is excited to continue working behind the chair while exploring new opportunities and possibilities.

With 26 years in the industry, Jill started her journey in cosmetology school in 1997, where she graduated top of her class in 1999. After hair school, she began working in Columbia and has since become one of the city’s favorite hairstylists!
